We are seeking an experienced Corporate Controller to join our team at Hitchcock Design Group. The ideal candidate will oversee financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting, compliance, and strategic financial planning. You will be responsible for managing journal entries, reconciliations, forecasting, and budget development while working closely with leadership to drive financial insights. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and expertise in accounting best practices are essential. This role requires proactive problem-solving, the ability to create ad hoc financial reports, and a commitment to continuous improvement. You will also assist in tax preparation, benefit plan analysis, and financial presentations for shareholders. Experience Level Recommendation:
  • 10+ years of experience in financial management, accounting, or a related field
  • CPA preferred but not required

Skills you need to be able to do this job:

  • Expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, Ajera, and Microsoft BI.
  • Experience managing 401(k) administration, tax filings, and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to analyze financial data and provide strategic recommendations
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
  • Ability to develop budgets, create financial forecasts, and manage KPIs
  • Experience preparing financial presentations for leadership and stakeholders

Job Duties:
  • Manage financial reporting including monthly reports, end-of year forecasts, and dashboard reporting
  • Oversee journal entries, reconciliations, and financial corrections
  • Analyze monthly financials and provide insights for leadership meetings
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, benefit plans, and financial audits
  • Oversee 401(k) administration, workers’ compensation audits, and IDOT prequalification
  • Assist the CEO in budgeting, managing credit lines, and financial planning
  • Maintain stock price calculations and assist with shareholder transactions
  • Conduct yearly rate studies and update overhead rates
  • Create ad hoc reports on profitability, utilization, and KPIs
  • Support valuation and enterprise value calculations

Salary Range: $125,000 - $140,000 commensurate with experience
